TAO-TOUCH TATTOOING

"Treat your new tattoo as you would any small wound. Most importantly, do not smoother it with salve or tight clothing."

 GENERAL HEALING INSTRUCTIONS

1. Bandage should stay on for at least one hour or until tattoo is done bleeding. Check periodically so to wipe off excess blood.

2. Slowly peel the dressing off the tattoo. Gently rinse the tattoo with alcohol or cool water and blot dry with a clean soft towel.

3. Apply A & D Ointment or comparable emollient 4 times per day, blotting excess.

4. Once bandage is removed, gently wash with your fingertips and cool water. Pat dry with a soft towel.

5. Keep tattoo fresh and open to the air. Do not bandage unless necessary to keep tattoo clean.

6. For the first week, avoid swimming or soaking in water. Before showering, cover with a bit of Vaseline.

Afterward, gently pat dry and expose the tattoo to fresh air for a while (ca. 15 minutes) before dressing.

7. For the first month, avoid too much exposure to the sun.

8. Do not pick or scratch scabs.

9. Itching is relieved by lightly slapping or dabbing alcohol on tattoo.

10. Wear clean, loose-fitting, cotton clothing while tattoo is healing or, if you are so fortunate, go naked.

11. Do not put hydrogen peroxide on tattoo while healing, as it will fade the color.

12. Use Common Sense

* In my many years of tattooing experience, only one customer has exhibited an allergic reaction to an ointment (in his case, the ointment used was Neo-sporin). Should any problem arise, such as excessive itching, use a salve you have had success with before.
